The National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) offers more than $750,000 in competition and award prizes on the local, state and national level. The Biennial Young Artist and Ellis Duo-Pianists competitions award a total of $92,000 in awards and two years of performance bookings. Additional competitions are sponsored by the Federation in a wide range of categories, including voice, instrumental music, composition, dance, conducting, handicapped and visually impaired, and music therapy. NFMC also sponsors more than 38 annual and biennial awards for students desiring to attend the 20 sponsored Summer Music Centers.

Texas Federation of Music Clubs Dyer Award
TFMC Bylaws Article XI TFMC Endowment Funds, Section 6: The J.C. Jr and Robert Dyer Memorial Strings Endowment was established to encourage and assist high school string students. The endowment is administered by TFMC. The Dyers selected a committee of three TFMC members to administer the awards from the earnings. The President of TFMC, with consent of the committee members, shall name replacements for any resigning/retiring committee members. The committee shall handle all mechanics of administering the endowment.
Amount: $500
Individuals/groups eligible: junior high, middle school, high school, junior college, or college in Texas.
Application date: May 1
Who may apply: individual student or teacher, conductor, or senior club member on behalf of an individual or organization in Texas. Send information requested to the Committee Chair.
Requirements:
Individual: name, age, grade, instrument(s), teacher(s) name(s), music experience (years of study, contests entered), future plans
Group: name, ages included, instrumentation, concert schedule, school affiliation, conductor's/director's name, affiliation with local senior club or other organizations
